During Christmas time, the cold weather makes it impossible to resist eating delicious Christmas snacks and think about diet or weight. And it should be like that. In the spirit of the holiday, many homemakers come up with tons of snack ideas and want that their family and guests who come to visit, to not to be disappointed.
However, due to lack of time, many times, the snacks are store-bought. Although there isn't anything wrong in that but when you can easily prepare healthy snacks at home, then why purchase them? Delicious Snacks

Goat Cheese Toasts

♦ 120 gm goat's cheese
♦ 8 chives, chopped
♦ 1 sour dough baguette
♦ Extra virgin olive oil, for garnish
Cut thin slices of the baguette and preheat the oven at 350ºF. On a baking tray, place the baguette slices and keep in the oven for 15 minutes. Once the baguette is slightly brown, remove from oven, and let it cool. Spread goat cheese over the slices and sprinkle chopped chives over it. Drizzle little bit of extra virgin olive oil and serve.

Strawberries w/Cream Filling

♦ 18-20 fresh strawberries
♦ 2 cups reduced-fat whipped topping
♦ 1 package sugar-free vanilla pudding mix
♦ 1 cup cold fat-free milk
♦ ¼ teaspoon almond extract
Wash the strawberries and remove their stems properly. With a sharp knife, make an X wedge on top of the strawberries. Set them aside. Take a bowl to mix the milk and pudding mix together. Combine properly for about 2-3 minutes and then, fold the whipping topping along with the almond extracts in.
Take a clean spoon, scoop some of the cream filling and add into the strawberry wedges. Place the strawberries in a glass oven dish and into the refrigerator for few hours.

Spicy Nacho Popcorn

♦ 10 cups popcorn, popped
♦ 1 teaspoon paprika
♦ ½ teaspoon ground cumin
♦ ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
♦ ⅓ cup Parmesan cheese, grated
♦ ¼ cup butter, melted
To make this delicious popcorn snack, take a bowl to mix butter, red pepper flakes, ground cumin, and paprika properly. In a different bowl, place the popped popcorn and add the seasoning now. Toss with tongs thoroughly and drizzle grated cheese on top. Serve immediately.

Pepperoni Breadsticks

♦ 2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese, grated
♦ 2 cups biscuit mix
♦ 1 cup marinara sauce
♦ ½ cup cold water
♦ ½ cup pepperoni, chopped
♦ ¼ cup butter, melted
First, preheat the oven at 425ºF. In a blender, mix biscuit mix, water, and pepperoni till it turns into smooth dough. Take it out of the blender and knead for 5 minutes. Sprinkle some flour on the workstation. Make small balls and then roll them out in the shape of long breadsticks.
Make as long or short strips of breadsticks as you like. Hold 2 ends and twist in opposite directions. Place the breadsticks in a baking sheet, brush with melted butter, sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top, and into the oven for 10 to 12 minutes. Once the breadsticks are brown, remove them and serve with hot marinara sauce.

Cranberry Trail Mix

♦ 2 cups sunflower seeds
♦ 1 cup cranberries, dried, sweet
♦ 1 cup pumpkin seeds
♦ 1 cup pine nuts
♦ 1 cup raisins
This is one of the healthy snacks for kids and adults. In a bowl, mix all the ingredients together with a spoon. Place in a clean, air-tight container and when you have to serve, take small bowls to do so.

Pudding Ice Cream

♦ 150 gm mixed dried fruit
♦ 1 liter vanilla ice cream
♦ 1 orange juice
♦ 1 orange's zest
♦ ½ cup brandy
♦ ½ teaspoon mixed spice
♦ Fresh raspberries
To make this, take a big bowl to mix dried fruit, orange zest, orange juice, and brandy properly. Let the dried fruit get soaked thoroughly for 1 hour. Next, mix the 1 liter ice cream in a bowl and sprinkle the dried fruit in it. Toss properly and place the ice cream back in the freezer. Once ready, spoon in a bowl and serve with fresh raspberries.

Christmas Trifle

♦ 6 tablespoons custard powder
♦ 6 tablespoons sugar
♦ 6 cups milk
♦ 600 ml cream, whipped
♦ 1 package strawberry-flavored jelly
♦ 1 package lime jelly
♦ 1 punnet strawberries
♦ 1 tin sliced peaches
♦ 1 tin mango slices
♦ 1 Swiss roll
♦ ½ cup orange juice
Follow the instructions mentioned on the jelly package, whip cream, and for the custard; keep in the refrigerator. Once you are ready to prepare the trifle, ready glass bowls and drain the peaches and mango in the sink. Cut the Swiss roll as thinly as you like and arrange on the bottom of the bowl.
Sprinkle some orange juice on top. Next goes the lime jelly, little bit of custard, peaches, strawberry jelly, more custard, mango, and whip cream. Make a smooth layer on top and arrange strawberries halves on top. Serve chilled.
