Halloween Party Ideas for Preschoolers

Halloween is a fun time for all. But kids, as always, need something to keep their mind occupied in the party. Here is a list of stuff that will help you do just that...
When it comes to hosting a Halloween party for kids, there are a number of things that you should keep in mind. Firstly, the number of invitees should not be more than fifteen, as managing kids is not an easy job. Secondly, make sure that you have enlisted the help of some fellow parents or a babysitter.

Invitations
The invitations should be a prelude to the party itself. So, you can make them in all forms and shapes that you feel represent the festival appropriately.

Decorations
For decorations, keep a color theme of either of red, black, green, or gray. You can even opt for white, as it is considered as a "witch color". Some props, such as fake spiderwebs, strings of garlic, apples, etc., can be hung on the walls.

Games
As everybody knows, kids have a very short attention span. So you really need to plan some exciting games and activities to keep them occupied.

Mummy Wrap!
This is one of the most interesting games. All you have to do is make pairs, and give each of them toilet paper rolls. Now, when you whistle, one of the kids starts to "mummy wrap" the roll around the other one. The first to finish gets some prize.

Spoon Out The Eyelids!
To play this game, take a few ping-pong balls, and color them to look like eyelids. Now, divide the kids into teams of three each. Fill a large mixing bowl with water, and put the balls in it. All the teams have to come one by one, and take out the 'eyelids' from the bowl, but the twist is that they can not use their hands! They have to use a spoon to scoop out the eyelids.

How Many Candies?
To play this game, put some candies in a jar and, covering it with a cloth, ask the kids how many candies it contains. The kid who answers correctly, gets the same number of candies. Keep the number small so that the kids are able to guess correctly and win the candies!

Crafts
Games are not the only interesting activity for kids. You can include numerous craft activities as well. For example, you can keep one pumpkin on each of the tables, and give the kids colors and markers to decorate it. Another idea is to give them paper plates in which you have already made two holes for the "eyes", and then ask the children to paint the rest of the face!

Food
Keep the food simple. It's a kids party, not a gourmet supper. You can go in for sandwiches, pizzas, cookies, muffins, cupcakes, and fruit punches. If you feel that the menu is too ordinary, then make some sandwiches in the shape of a skull, adding gummy worms to the fruit punch to create a "bug juice", and spreading an orange-colored cream on the bagels and making facial features on them with corn candies!

Keep it simple, keep it entertaining, keep it spooky!
